Privacy Policy

1 Who this applies to

This policy covers the Trifold iOS app ("Trifold," "the app," "we," "us"). It explains what the app does and does not do with information when you use it.

2 Data the app collects

None. The Trifold app does not collect, store off your device, or transmit any personal information. Specifically, the app has:

• no account, login, or in-app email capture, and no user profile;
• no advertising and no advertising identifiers;
• no analytics or tracking SDKs;
• no third-party services that receive your data;
• no location, contacts, photos, microphone, or camera access.

The only place we ever collect anything is the optional newsletter on our website — see Section 11. It is entirely separate from the app, and signing up is never required to download or play.

3 Data stored on your device

To make the game work, Trifold saves your puzzle progress, completion calendar, streaks, personal-best times, badges, and preferences locally on your device. This information never leaves your device and is not accessible to us. If you delete the app, this data is removed with it.

4 Diagnostics

Trifold may record basic, anonymous performance and stability information (for example, crash or performance summaries via Apple's on-device MetricKit, and simple first-party usage counters) only on your device, to help the app run smoothly. This diagnostic information is never transmitted off your device and contains no identifiers. The app's privacy manifest declares only standard local data storage (UserDefaults).

5 Purchases

Trifold offers a single optional one-time purchase, Trifold Unlimited. All purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or receive your name, payment-card details, or other payment information. Purchases support Family Sharing. Apple's handling of transactions is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.

6 Notifications

If you choose to enable reminders, Trifold schedules local notifications on your device. There is no push server and no message is sent over a network. You can turn reminders off at any time in iOS Settings.

7 No network calls

Trifold works fully offline. The app does not contact any server to play, and the daily puzzles are generated on your device from the calendar date.

8 No sale or sharing of data

Because we collect no personal data, we do not and cannot sell, rent, or share it. There is nothing to sell.

9 Children's privacy

Trifold is intended for users aged 13 and over. The app collects no personal information from anyone, including children. We do not knowingly gather data from any user.

10 Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the text and the effective date on this page. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.

11 Website newsletter (optional)

Our website offers an optional email signup so we can let you know when Trifold launches and, occasionally, tell you about new puzzles and future apps. This is the only personal information we ever collect, and only if you choose to give it to us on the website. The app itself never asks for or sends your email.

• What we collect: the email address you enter, and the fact that you subscribed.
• Why: to email you about Trifold and future releases. Nothing else.
• How: we use a third-party email provider, Buttondown, to store the list and send the messages. Your address is processed by them for this purpose only.
• Your control: every email includes a one-tap unsubscribe, and you can ask us to delete your address at any time by emailing playtrifold@proton.me.
• We never sell or share your address, and we don't use it to track you across the web. The website carries no advertising or analytics trackers.

The website is static and carries no analytics; our host (Cloudflare Pages) may process standard server request logs, such as IP addresses, to serve and protect the site, as any web host does.
